Our Beliefs:

I support the Revolution Church Beliefs.
Revolution Church will aggressively utilize methodologies in an attempt to reach people who are far from God. Although our approach is anything but traditional, we believe in and maintain a conservative theological position.

The Bible – God wrote a book
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 4:1-2 | Psalms 119:11, 89, 105 | Isaiah 40:8 | Matthew 22:29 | John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17 | Romans 15:4 | 2 Timothy 3:15-17 | Hebrews 1:1-2; 4:12 | 1 Peter 1:25 | 2 Peter 3:16

Trinity – God: Three in One
God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority. Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4 | Isaiah 61:1 | Matthew 28:19 | Mark 1:9-11 | Luke 1:35 | John 5:21-23; 14:10, 16 | Romans 8:9-11 | 1 Corinthians 8:6 | 2 Corinthians 13:14 | Hebrews 1:8-10 | James 2:19

The Father – God is great, God is good
God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good: He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises. Scripture: Exodus 3:14 | Numbers 23:19 | Leviticus 11:44-45; 19:2 | Psalm 11:4-6 | Malachi 3:6 | John 3:16; 4:24; 5:26; 14:1 | Acts 17:28 | Romans 3:3-4

Jesus – God became man
Jesus Christ is completely human, but at the same time completely God. He is the only plan for bringing people who are enemies of God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could have life.
Scripture: Isaiah 7:14; 53 | Matthew 1:18-23; 3:17; 8:29; 14:33; 16:16; 28:5-6 | Luke 22:70; 24:46-47 | John 1:1, 14; 10:30; 11:25-27; 17:1-5 | Acts 1:9; 2:22-24; 7:55-56 | Romans 1:3-4; 3:23-26; 8:1-3; 10:4 | 1 Corinthians 8:6 | 2 Corinthians 5:19-21 | Gal 4:4-5 | Philippians 2:5-11 | Colossians 1:15; 2:9 | 1 Timothy 2:5-6; 3:16

The Holy Spirit – God is always present
His presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.
Scripture: Genesis 1:2 | Psalms 51:11; 139:7 | Isaiah 61:1-3; Joel 2:28-32 | Mark 1:10 | Luke 1:35; 4:1; 11:13; 12:12 | John 15:26; 16:7-14 | Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 13:2 | Romans 8:9-11, 14-16, 26-27 | 1 Corinthians 3:16 | Ephesians 1:13-14 | 2 Peter 1:21 | Revelation 22:17

Eternity – Somewhere forever
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.
Scripture: John 3:16, 36 | Romans 6:23 | 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13 | Revelation 20:15

Man – God’s image bearers
Man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of His creation. Man was created to have fellowship with God, but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort. Every human personality is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Scripture: Genesis 1:26-30; 2:7, 18-22; 3 | Psalms 8:3-6; 32:1-5; 51:5 | Isaiah 6:5 | Jeremiah 17:5 | Acts 17:26-31 | Romans 1:19-32; 3:10-18, 23; 5:6; 6:6; 7:14-25 | 1 Corinthians 1:21-31; 15:19, 21-22 | Ephesians 2 | Colossians 1:21-22; 3:9-11

Salvation – God’s only way
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
Scripture: Isaiah 1:18; 53:5-6; 55:7 | Matthew 1:21; 27:22-28:6 | Luke 1:68-69; 2:28-32 | John 1:12; 3:16, 36; 5:24 | Acts 2:21; 4:12; 16:30-31 | Romans 1:16-18;3:23-25; 5:8-10; 6 | 1 Corinthians 1:18 | 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 | Galatians 2:20; 3:13 | Ephesians 2:8-10 | Philippians 2:12-13 | Hebrews 9:24-28 | Revelation 3:20

The Church – God’s design for community
The church is a local community of baptized believers unified through faith in Christ. It is committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all of His commands, and it seeks to bring the gospel to the world. The Church works together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ.
Scripture: Matthew 16:18-19; 18:15-20 | Acts 2:41-47; 5:11-14; 13:1-3; 14:23; 16:5; 20:28 | 1 Corinthians 7:17; 9:13-14; 12 | Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:10-12; 5:22-32 | Colossians 1:18; 3:15 | 1 Timothy 4:14 | 1 Peter 5:1-4 | Revelation 21:2-3

Our Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

Humanity: We believe that man & woman were created in the image & likeness of God, but that through Adam's sin, the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, & became alienated from God. Man has a radical propensity to sin, & of himself is utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. We believe that all human life is sacred & created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, & every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, & value all human life. This is seen in the reality of Jesus Christ's incarnation, becoming a man, & his willingness to die for humanity.

Sexuality & Gender Policy: Sexuality and the divinely prescribed boundaries for the expression thereof is covered clearly in the Holy Scriptures, which limit sexual expression to the marital relationship of one (1) man with one (1) woman. Homosexual acts, adultery, bestiality, and all forms of fornication are categorically condemned in the Holy Scriptures. See 1 Cor. 6:18; 1 Thes. 4:3; Rom. 1:26-27; Prov. 5:3-5, 8-13; 7:21-27; Gal. 5:19; Exodus 20:14; Deut. 5:18; Matt. 5:27; 19:18; Luke 18:20; Rom. 13:9; James 2:11; Lev. 20:10-21; 1 Cor. 10:8; and 6:18; Jude 7. Furthermore, the Church believes that gender is assigned by God at birth, whatever that may be, and the Holy Scripture does not permit an individual to alter their sexual identity physically or otherwise. See Deut. 23:1

Marriage Policy: We believe that because God our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution between one (1) man and one (1) woman, the idea that marriage is a covenant only between one (1) man and one (1) woman has been the traditional definition of marriage for all of human history (“Traditional Definition of Marriage”). Because of the longstanding importance of the Traditional Definition of Marriage to humans and their relationships and communities, and, most importantly, the fact that God has ordained that marriage be between one (1) man and one (1) woman, as clearly conveyed in God’s inerrant Scriptures, including for example in Matthew 19:4-6where in speaking about marriage Jesus referred to the fact that “he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,” the Church hereby creates this policy, which shall be known as the“Marriage Policy.”Under this Church’s Marriage Policy, the Traditional Definition of Marriage is the only definition of marriage that will be recognized or accepted. No director, elder, trustee, officer, employee, servant, agent, or any person, corporation, organization, or entity under the direction or control of this Church shall commit any act or omission, or make any decision whatever, that would be inconsistent with, or that could be perceived by any person to be inconsistent with, full support of this Church’s Marriage Policy and strict adherence to the traditional Definition of Marriage rather than any alternative to the Traditional Definition of Marriage. This Church’s Marriage Policy specifically prohibits acts or omissions including but not limited to permitting any Church assets or property, whether real property, personal property, intangible property, or any property or asset of any kind that is subject to the direction or control of the Church, to be used in any manner that would be or could be perceived by any person to be inconsistent with this Church’s Marriage Policy or the Traditional Definition of Marriage, including but not limited to permitting any Church facilities to be used by any person, organization, corporation, or group that would or might use such facilities to convey, intentionally or by implication, what might be perceived as a favorable impression about any definition of marriage other than the Traditional Definition of Marriage. We believe this Church’s Marriage Policy is based upon God’s will for human life as conveyed to us through the Holy Scriptures, upon which this Church has been founded and anchored, and this Marriage Policy shall not be subject to change through popular vote; referendum; prevailing opinion of members or the general public; influence of or interpretation by any government authority, agency, or official action; or legal developments on the local, state, or federal level.

Common Law Marriage Policy: In no case shall persons be accepted into Church employment and/or volunteer positions of leadership or teaching that are known to be living in: (i) a common law state of matrimony; or (ii) a manner inconsistent with the Church’s teaching on marriage or sexuality pursuant to Article 2.02 of these Bylaws.

Bathroom Policy: Consistent with the Church’s sincerely held religious beliefs, gender specific bathroom facilities may only be utilized consistent with gender assigned at birth and not gender identity or expression.

Statement on Life: Every human life has inherent dignity and thus must be treated with the respect due to a human person. See Psalm 139:13-16. Conversely, to claim that some live human beings do not deserve respect or should not be treated as "persons" (based on changeable factors such as age, condition, location, or lack of mental or physical abilities) is to deny the very idea of inherent human rights. Such a claim undermines respect for the lives of many vulnerable people before and after birth. Accordingly, direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law and sinful.

Core Values

Our values describe who we are and who we strive to be as a church. As we carry out the great mission and vision God has called us to, together we must create a culture that reflects the values God has made clear. With every touch, every conversation, every act of service, every move we make, we commit to carry out this great vision and these values. We love God and love others at Revolution Church.

JESUS CHANGES LIVES- It's all about Jesus.
We are found people who find people! We are addicted to life change. Jesus said, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." Followers fish. Period. We are passionate about seeing one life changed at a time. Life change happens in a relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 4:19 | John 3:16 | Matthew 28:19-20 | Luke 19:10 | Luke 15:1-32

THE BIBLE IS OUR TRUTH- We lean in to God’s Word.
In a world full of opinions, we choose to find our truth and anchor our lives in God’s Word, the Bible. We believe the Bible is the authoritative, supernatural revelation of God Himself and God’s gift to guide those who love and seek Him. The Bible reveals God’s design for His creation and shows us how to live and experience God’s best. Our worldview comes from God’s Word, not human ideologies.

Psalm 119:11 | John 8:32 | John 17:7 | Ephesians 6:14 | Psalm 25:5

KEEP IT KINGDOM- We focus on the Kingdom of God.
‍Jesus is a King with a Kingdom. As citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven, we carry Jesus’ authority over sin, satan and struggles. We represent Heaven here on Earth. We always bring our best for God because Jesus brought his best for us. We value hard work, creativity, and excellence.

Matthew 6:33 | Revelation 5:10; 11:15 | Luke 11:1-2 | Colossians 3:23 | 1 Corinthians 10:31

THINK 3 GENERATIONS
We are a big thinking, legacy minded church.
We seek God’s truth when facing the complexities of modern family life. We lead the next generations to find a home in God’s house, to get rooted in God’s Word and to be builders of God’s Kingdom!
‍
Joshua 24:15 | Joel 1:3 | Deuteronomy 11:13-28

UNLEASH GENEROSITY- We give above and beyond.
We utilize our time, give our treasure and exercise our talents joyfully to give to the work of God in our city and across our world. We share in the responsibility of the church family.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 | Matthew 6:21 | Malachi 3:8-12
‍
HEART AND SOUL- We are in this together.
You matter to God. You matter to us. We weren’t meant to do life alone. God created the church to be a family that grows together and is unified.
‍
1 Samuel 14:1-14 | Matthew 18:20 | Proverbs 27:6-9; 17

WE SING LOUD- Passion drives us.
We worship loud because of what God has done, what God is doing and what we believe God will do in our lives as we stay close to Him. We love God, His Church and His creation (people!) with PASSION. We love as God loves us. We forgive others as God forgave us. We serve as God served us.
‍
Psalm 47:1 | Matthew 22:37-40 | Matthew 6:21 | John 4:24 | Luke 4:8

Please read in full:

These Guidelines and Requirements are for the following roles:
•Volunteer in any Revolution Dream Team
•Small Group Leaders (kids, teens, and adults)
•Weekend or any event musicians and vocalists
•Camp Sponsors or event volunteers

Abuse Policy
I understand that Revolution Church is a safe place for children and vulnerable adults and that Revolution complies with all Federal and State laws regarding reporting suspected abuse. As a member of the Dream Team, I understand that suspected abuse is to be reported to the staff member who oversees the area in which I serve. I also understand the four types of abuse defined below:

Physical: a physical act directed at a child or vulnerable adult that causes injury.
Sexual: contact or interactions between a child and an adult, or another child, when the child is being used for sexual stimulation of the perpetrator, or another person. This includes exploitation through photographs, videos, or other communication methods.
Emotional: acts or omissions by the parent or caregivers that have caused, or could cause, serious behavioral, cognitive, emotional, or mental disorders.
Neglect: failure to provide for the child or vulnerable adult's basic needs. This includes adequate adult supervision, medical attention, housing, food, and clothing. Most cases of physical neglect involve inadequate adult supervision that has caused harm to the child or vulnerable adult or places them in danger of such harm.

I understand it is not my responsibility to investigate and in no instance will I confront a parent or caregiver if abuse is suspected. As a member of the Dream Team, I agree to comply with this policy and report any suspected abuse to the staff person who oversees the area in which I serve.

Leadership Honor Code
As an essential part of the Revolution Leadership family, you have a responsibility to develop and exhibit mature Christian behavior. This should be the basic premise of your desire to participate in a servant-leader position here at Revolution Church. While serving the Body of Christ as a servant-leader at Revolution Church, you pledge to present a good appearance at all times. In both attire and behavior, you should strive to demonstrate Biblical standards in all situations.

As Christians, the way we present ourselves to others is of vital importance to the way others perceive Christ. Our conduct should never be an embarrassment to Christ, but should exemplify the best qualities of a mature believer and servant-leader. Exemplifying the highest moral commitment, Revolution Church leaders are to maintain a disciplined life of Bible reading, prayer, and fasting. You must also refrain from such things as:
•Indulging in much wine or other alcoholic beverages
•Dishonest gain
•Illicit drugs
•Pornography
•Sexual immorality (sexual activity outside of marriage)
•All behaviors which might cause Christ to grieve and others to stumble
By providing an example in speech and action, we encourage others to grow in Christ and become servant-leaders themselves. This is a way of life measured by the heart and commitment of each leader in the Revolution Church family. We should regard it as an essential part of our development, not as an imposition or restriction.

Requirements
Because we want to make sure that Revolution's influence and teaching in all areas aligns with Biblical principles in which we believe, people in all volunteer roles must satisfy the requirements listed below. These are non-negotiable for all Dream Team members:
•Must believe in and officially affirm our belief statements by signing our included beliefs document or by completing the church membership covenant.
•Must be committed to our core leadership honor code and sign this document affirming their commitment.
•Must be committed Christ Followers
•People in these roles must not be people who create conflict
•Revolution welcomes people from all walks of life in all stages of faith (or with no faith at all) and has many ways to volunteer. However, for most volunteer roles, volunteers must not be practicing or affirming any of the following:
-Cohabitation outside of marriage
-Pursing a same gender relationship
-Illegal drug use
-Public intoxication
-Social media posts that conflict with the church vision, values, and beliefs
•If a volunteer has practiced or affirmed any of the above in the past 6 months (minimum standard), then we ask that they not serve at this time.
•While we are a church that believes in and practices grace, we won't allow Registered Sex Offenders to volunteer in any capacity.

Background checks are required for all volunteers. After you are onboarded as a new Dream Team Member we will assist you in our simple background check process.

I believe that Jesus, the Son of God, died on the cross to pay for my sin and that God raised Him from the dead. I have repented from my sin, accepted the gift of eternal life, and have begun the journey of being a life-long follower of Christ.

I HAVE READ AND AGREE TO LIVE BY THE BELIEFS STATEMENT, STATEMENT ON MARRIAGE, GENDER, AND SEXUALITY, CORE VALUES, AND LEADERSHIP COVENANT OF REVOLUTION CHURCH.
